Roger K. Gelb, Managing Partner
After graduating from The Shepard Broad Law School at Nova Southeastern University in 1991, Mr. Gelb was admitted to the Bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Mr. Gelb is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court, for the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals, for the District of Columbia Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
To date, Mr. Gelb, who is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and has never had a lower rating, has personally litigated, arbitrated or settled thousands of personal injury cases. Also of note, Mr. Gelb was selected by his peers as one of the area’s best lawyers in the November 2004 issue of Washingtonian Magazine and again in the December 2007 issue (these are consecutive selections). Washingtonian, which lists Mr. Gelb as one of the city’s “Big Guns” and classifies him among “the top 1%” of lawyers in the city” goes on to describe Mr. Gelb as one of “Washingon’s best – most honest and effective – lawyers who sue.”
In addition to complex medical malpractice cases, automobile accident claims and fall cases, Mr. Gelb was retained to represent passengers injured when an Amtrak train derailed near Washington, D.C. in the Summer of 2002 and by the family of a man who was killed in the Staten Island Ferry disaster of 2003.
Roger, who participated for many years in mixed martial arts competitions, zealously fights for each of his clients, without sacrificing the firm’s high ethical standards. Mr. Gelb’s martial arts training, which continues today, and has lasted for more than 20 years, includes four years of private training with world renowned professional fighter, trainer, and author, Sammy Franco (www.sammyfranco.com), private training with professional Thai boxer Chris Wade, and years of traditional training in various Korean styles, which resulted in a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Mr. Gelb feels that his martial arts training has helped keep his focus razor sharp, and his representation of his clients “tenacious, but disciplined.”
More recently, Mr. Gelb authored a book entitled Don’t Get Sued! A Guide to Help Reduce Your Businesses’s Exposure to Lawsuits. The book is available at www.DontGetSued.net.
Mr. Gelb has been an active member in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Bar Association, the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., the Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, The Montgomery County (Maryland) Bar Association, and is profiled in Who’s Who in American Law.

Joseph D.Gelb, Emeritus
After serving in the United States Air Corps in World War II, Mr. Gelb received his undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton. In 1952, Joseph earned his law degree from George Washington University.
After completing his studies, Mr. Gelb first worked as an Adjudicator for the War Claims Commission. In 1954, Joseph D. Gelb went into private practice and started what is now known as Gelb & Gelb, P.C.
Mr. Gelb is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Maryland State Bar. Mr. Gelb is also admitted to appear before the Federal courts in the District of Columbia, including the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Gelb’s reported cases include, Roth vs. Speck, 126 A.2d 153 and McGettigan vs. National Bank of Washington, 320 F.2d 703.
Mr. Gelb has been an active member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, American Bar Association, The Trial Lawyers Assocation of Metropolitain Washington,D.C. and is profiled in Who’s Who in American Law. It should come as no surprise that Mr. Gelb is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Gelb has been married for over 40 years and has two children and five grandchildren.
