What to do After an Automobile Accident: Part Three
If the other party doesn’t cooperate, if they flee the scene, or they give information that is incorrect (which you wouldn’t know until later), it’s okay. It’s not anything to panic over unless you yourself are not insured.
If the potential client is uninsured, and the other driver is uninsured, then there’s really no source of recovery. There may be what is known as an ‘uninsured motorist fund’ in the jurisdiction where the accident happened, but that’s just going to pay medical bills and it probably wouldn’t cover the potential client because they failed to have coverage on their car.
So it’s really critical that you keep your coverage current, and that you get as much information as you can on the other party.
